Telluride.

Spent a couple days in Telluride… took a couple shots.

Telluride--4

Backpacking Colorado

I recently went for an overnight Backpacking trip, hiked in 4 miles with a 80lb pack… I think i’ll be upgrading to the lightweight tent and sleeping bag for my next trip. We were lucky enough to see a moose and her calf, they pretty much walked right through our campsite and off around the lake. Here are a few shots from the day.. enjoy.

Three Sisters.

Went up to Evergreen and shot more Mountain Biking with my good buddy Fish (Jim Gill). I swear he gets better every time I ride with him.

Equus.

I didn’t shoot anything all weekend until about 10 min after I left the cabin. There were these two horses, one very friendly, almost posing for the camera and the other not so much. I tried to use a reflector to bounce some light into her face but she was so attracted to the light she would move toward it every time we tried. These were my favs from the series. enjoy.

Burning Your Loved Ones.

Is it legal to burn you loved ones? I wouldn’t think so, but among the many random places I stumbled upon this weekend in my best efforts to dodge any and all Labor Day vacationers, Crestone, Colorado seems to be ok with it. Driving through town you would swear you literally just missed a Grateful Dead show and the Dead heads were still roaming the streets in search of that last drops of LSD. Or maybe Crestone is the last stop for all the old hippie trustafarians kicked out of Boulder who will now be able to fly directly under the radar due to the UFO observatory and Alligator farm within a half hour drive.

Who new Colorado had so much to offer! Well, a lot of people I would guess. Although, it still amazes me that everywhere I go in this state I am pleasantly surprised on the vastness of landscapes it has to offer. The Great Sand Dunes National Park being no exception. We started early and drove directly towards the Sand Dunes, ignoring all warnings to lower our tire pressure due to deep sand. The road eventually became more and more remote and at times resembled a small beach front path somewhere in Mexico. After a short hike, which pretty much felt straight up we were on top of the tallest dune in the 130 square mile National park. The view was incredible and the landscaped was transformed into a scene straight out of “Dune” minus the creepy eyes.

The final leg of the trip was up through Crested Butte with a nights stay up on Kebler Pass at Lake Erwin Campground. I have this theory when shooting photos… If I’m being lazy and I don’t want to get up or maybe I think nothing will come of my efforts and I am planning of just blowing the entire thing off. Then I think to myself, every time I go shoot when I don’t want to I get some of my favorite shots. Well, this time was an exception.. I was up at 5:30am, braved the cold temps and waited two hours for a nice sunrise pic of the lake and nothing! Nothing became of it, it clouded up and by the time the sun hit everywhere I wanted it to, there was no nice warm morning glow so… you get this mediocre shot of the lake. Enjoy.

Milena.

Well… It’s Monday. But, being a Photographer I really don’t have Mondays or Fridays for that matter. You may ask yourself, what does this have to do with boxing? Well… Nothing. Except for maybe the fact that when you love something that you do, YOU never really work at all! And this weekend was no exception, I got to do something I love with two of my favorite people in the world! Which still really doesn’t have anything to do with Boxing but.. I really just needed a way to start this blog! I wanted to give a huge thank you to DaVarryl “Touch of Sleep” Williamson with Touch ‘Em Up Boxing Gym and Damon for their complete hospitality! I’m hoping we can get back over there and work with those guys more!

Fish.

Shot a little mountain biking yesterday with my good friend Jim Gill, also known as “Fish”. He was a complete trooper, I made him jump this rock about 20 times before moving on to the next shot.

Brooklyn.

I’ve never seen it rain so much in Colorado! It seems that every afternoon around three or four the clouds roll in and rain starts to fall. Sunday was no exception, but after two reschedules and I finally had the props in hand we just had to make a go of it. I want to give a huge thanks to Tom Visocchi my photo caddie and Brooklyn our model, without you guys it wouldn’t be possible!.. Please check out the images on my website as well!

Silver Spur Productions.

Last week I met up with Silver Spur Productions for some behind the scenes shots of a new project as well as a few fun head shots.. here are some of my favs!
