Jeff Nelson Photography + San Diego, CA

Greetings everyone! I am happy to announce I will now be operating out of both Denver and San Diego! I will be back and forth working on different projects with clients. I am extremely excited about the new location! My phone number and contact information will not change but I will have CA address that I will be working out of while I am there. Thank you for all you support and I look forward to what the future holds!

Equus.

I didn’t shoot anything all weekend until about 10 min after I left the cabin. There were these two horses, one very friendly, almost posing for the camera and the other not so much. I tried to use a reflector to bounce some light into her face but she was so attracted to the light she would move toward it every time we tried. These were my favs from the series. enjoy.

Thailand Revisited.

One of my favorite things to do is revisit old photos and tweak and play with them to get different results. I feel my eye is always changing, so it’s fun to go back and see what I like that I didn’t before. Thailand is such a beautiful country and I would love to go back and photograph it again, this time with better lenses and much more patience. Thank you. Enjoy.

Once we got rollin’.

The problem with shooting on location, outside in the middle of winter is that sometimes you get snowed on.. especially in Denver. The previous week was in the 70′s and we were all set to go, as the shoot date approached the weather went from bad to worse. We received 6 inches of snow two days before and another 4 on the original shoot date. Needless to say the shoot was canceled. The logistics that go into shoot can sometimes be daunting especially when you have to reschedule. With the new shoot date approaching and the snow not melting we had no choice but to take to the shovels… With only ice left on the roof,(which was not part of our original plan) we had no choice but to embrace it. Once we got rollin’ everything went off without a hitch, besides the fact that I wished we’d had another 4 hour in our day. I was blessed to work with the best crew of people, everyone had a positive attitude and went above and beyond to get it done! I send a huge Thank you to: Art Director: Tom Visocchi, Stylist: Katie Shapiro, Hair/Make-up: Abella Bala, Models: Tiffany Vartanyan and Leo Marrs. A special thanks to our clothing providers: Goldyn, Unity and The Blue Jeans Bar! Also, Matthew Langbauer for the use of his beautiful 1967 Cadillac Coupe de Ville.
